Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Journal of Medical Discovery (JMD) is an open access and peer-reviewed journal published by E-Discovery Publication Incorporation. It releases one issue every three months, totally four issues each year. JMD is an online journal.

 

The work accepted by JMD are published online only. Before the formally published in an issue, the manuscripts will be available online in advance. JMD is a fast publication journal. The manuscripts accepted will be published early online around 7 days.

 

The purpose of JMD is to disseminate timely and informative articles to the researchers in basic, translational and clinical studies. The journal includes most of researches in the scientific and medical field. The selection of potential published manuscripts is based on the novelty of the work, the broad readership and the contribution to relevant fields. The data should solidly support the results and the final conclusions.

 

JMD publishes Research Articles, Review Articles, Commentaries, Case Reports, Editorials, Focus, Hypothesis, Short Communications and Letter to Editor. If there are other types of contributions, it is welcomed to send them to the editorial office for evaluation. We will respond within 48 hours to inform you whether they are suitable for possible publication in JMD.

 

Section Policies

All types of manuscripts, including Research Articles, Review Articles, Commentaries, Case Reports, Editorials, Focus, Hypothesis, Short Communications, Letter to Editor or any other contributions will be sent to outside peer reviewer for evaluation. All the work published on JMD will be open access.

 

Peer Review Process

In selecting articles for publication, the editor gives preference to those with the significant contribution to the relative fields or show novelty in the methods or perspectives. They should be well written, well organized, and intelligible to the multidisciplinary JMD readers. JMD aims to publish top-quality work to impact the basic, translational and clinical fields and provide information with significance to the audience.

 

All the manuscripts with significance submitted to JMD will be peer reviewed. The steps for each manuscript are an editorial primary decision, peer review, editorial first decision, revise (if applicable), under review, editorial’s final decision.

 

The authors will receive an Acknowledgement Letter at initial submission in 48 hours, no matter through website submission or via email. Please contact the editorial office if no response is received.

 

The editorial board members will evaluate the manuscripts to see whether they are suitable for possible publications. This step takes about 3 days. Manuscript with poor quality will be rejected by the board members directly. The suitable manuscripts will be sent to peer review and this may take around 14 days. The editors will make the first decision based on the comments from more than two reviewers. This may take around 3 days. It can be Accepted at the current version, Minor Revise, Major Revise or Reject.

 

The decisions with the commentaries will be sent the corresponding author by email. For revised manuscripts, the authors should improve the manuscripts by addressing the comments. A point by point response should be submitted together with the revised manuscripts in time. The revised parts should be marked as Red. For Rejected manuscripts, the authors can write a letter to appeal to the editorial office if they feel that the decision is adequate. The rejected manuscripts can be resubmitted as new manuscripts if they are significantly improved after rejection.

 

Publication Frequency

JMD releases one issue every three months, four issues in total each year. The work accepted by JMD are published online only. Before the formally published in an issue, the manuscripts will be available online in advance.

 

Author Self-Archiving

Although the authors transfer the copyright to JMD, they are permitted and encouraged to present the work in their own personal website, institutional or company’s website once published early online. It is preferred to provide the information of this journal and an active link to JMD.

 

Open Access

All the manuscripts published on JMD will immediately be freely available once published early online.

 

Registration

JMD doesn’t do any registration of users at the current time. If you want to track the progress of the manuscripts, joining as a reviewer or any other questions, please contact the JMD editorial office.
